A letter is said to be making the rounds within the school board community demanding the resignation of the chair of the Lester B. Pearson school board.
According to a CTV report this week, an ethics commissioner ruled Suanne Stein Day violated the board's code of ethics mutiple times.
CTV News reported Friday evening it has obtained documents showing taxpayers are being billed more than $80,000 in legal fees for the investigation.
"The invoices that have already been filed are in two groups. One series of invoices relates directly to the ethics commissioner at the Lester B. Pearson school board and that totals more than $28,000. The second series of invoices is for the other legal fees related to the ethics investigation. Those invoices total more than $53,000. Together, potentially more than $80,000 in taxpayers' money", reported CTV's Derek Conlon.
Stein Day told CTV News she couldn't talk about the case, adding it was settled.
The school board's next public meeting is Monday night.
