About 2000 high school students in Deux-Montagnes were confined to their school for a time Tuesday afternoon while a police operation outside the school led to the arrests of four young people.
Police say they were called in, after someone received a threat via SnapChat.
"When going through his Facebook page, was able to locate pictures of this person with firearms," said Christopher Harding, a spokesman for Deux Montagnes police. "The fact that he was found with pictures of firearms raised a certain kind of fear within the person that received this message."
Students and staff at the Polyvalente Deux-Montagnes were told to stay indoors while the operation happened, but authorities stresses that the students and staff were never in any danger.
The person who allegedly made the threat, and three of his friends, showed up at the school via Uber while police were there. They were arrested were being questioned Tuesday afternoon.
