NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has released a French language ad showing him without a turban.
The election ad released on the NDP's Youtube channel opens with a shot of the leader with his long hair down and then wrapping a turban around his head.
On the video Singh says he is proud of his identity, just like you.
In Quebec, Bill 21 passed in June which bans some public servants in the province, including teachers, from wearing turbans and hijabs.
The federal election is coming up in October.
