A 21-year-old man who held Laval police at bay for nearly two hours at the beginning of Tuesday evening's rush hour is due in court Wednesday.
The incident began at around 3:20 Tuesday afternoon, when police got a call about a depressed man on the 440 near Des Laurentides Blvd. sitting in a car with a firearm.
Police say a total of three shots were fired, and that a Laval police cruiser was struck by one of the bullets.
Police managed to subdue the man after a roughly two-hour standoff. During that time, he told police he was in a depressed state, and threatened to hurt himself and others.
