An anti-immigration group called the Storm Alliance is planning a series of demonstrations at the Canada-U.S. border south of Montreal at the end of the month - and anti-racism groups are already planning to meet them there to counter their message.
The Quebec wing of the Storm Alliance has about 100 members on its Facebook page. It says it is not xenophobic, it simply believes that the Trudeau government's immigration policies are putting national security at risk.
Veteran activist Jaggi Singh tells La Presse that anti-racism groups will be on hand September 30 for a counter protest, as they were when the same group demonstrated at the border on Canada Day. At that time, police kept the groups apart.
Storm Alliance is not releasing the locations of his month's protests.
