A Pointe-St-Charles man is filing a complaint with his son's school and its school bus company after his 13-year-old autistic son was dropped off over five hours after leaving school.
Anthony Guadagnolo said since he got stuck in traffic a week ago, he told the school bus company to drop his son Jace off at his sister's in Verdun.
But as it got later and later, no sign of Jace.
Guadagnolo said he couldn't get a hold of the school or the school bus company so he called police.
He said police managed to contact the bus company who told him Jace was still on the bus at 7 p.m. and on its way to Verdun.
But by 8 p.m. - nothing. Guadagnolo said police told him they lost contact with the bus driver and to file a missing persons report.
"They told me, 'Also please give them recent photographs of your child.' At that point, I dropped to my knees," said Guadagnolo who reached out to CJAD 800 via yourstory@cjad.com
"I couldn't believe what this guy just told me."
Jace finally arrived at around 8:30 p.m. Guadagnolo claims neither the school nor the bus company told him what was happening.
"It caused me a lot of stress," said Guadagnolo.
Autobus Idéal would not do a recorded interview but told CJAD 800 they were in touch with the driver through their dispatcher at all times and that there were a total of seven children on the bus.
They also maintain that they returned messages the next day, that the delay was caused by the weather and there'll be soon GPS on all their buses.
Guadagnolo said he was informed that the driver got lost, something the company denies.
The company did say the driver is now off that particular route.
CJAD 800 is still awaiting comment from Peter Hall School.
"It caused me a lot of stress," said Guadagnolo.
"Not knowing where your son is for over five hours."
