As Montreal gets set to do out with the old and in with the new, your options of getting around town will be limited this weekend.
Starting Friday at 11:59 P.M. the following closures go into effect until Monday at 5:00 A.M.:
Crews will spend the weekend tearing down the remaining portions of the former Ville Marie Expressway while at the same time starting the job of ripping up the old westbound 20 overpass in Montreal West.
Because of the work the only three access ramps will be open:
The Turcot Interchange rebuild won't be the only issue for motorists. Closer to the West Island anyone looking to get downtown via Highway 20 eastbound will be forced off the highway at Exit 62 (1st Ave./St. Pierre/Dollard Ave). Anyone coming into town from the Mercier will be completely blocked from heading east.
