The city of Montreal has started work to tear up up a brand new median.
The extra wide concrete median was built just 2 months ago along a section of Clark Street between St. Viateur and Laurier Avenue .
It was designed to protect cyclists but Plateau residents pointed out the new median was so wide that emergency vehicles couldn't get down the street when cars were parked on both sides.
The city tells CTV Montreal that the overall project shouldn't be over budget, but it doesn't know how much it will cost to redo the median.
