A woman was seriously injured on Friday evening after being attacked by three dogs.
It happened around 6:15pm in the small township of Potton, on the western shore of Lac Memphremagog - about an hour-and-a-half's drive from Montreal.
The Sûreté du Québec told CJAD800 that the woman was out jogging near the airport when she was "attacked by three good-sized dogs," said Sergeant Hughes Beaulieu of the Sûreté du Québec. The dogs apparently escaped out the door of a nearby home and the woman suffered "significant injuries" and was taken to hospital.
Police said the SPCA will visit and evaluate the dogs in the coming days, adding that they do not yet know what breed(s) of dogs were involved in the attack.
In the meantime, the dogs' owner has put them in quarantine for a period of ten days and the SQ has started an investigation into what caused the attack.
