Officials at the drive-a-drunk home service Operation Nez Rouge say this will be their busiest weekend of the year because so many Christmas parties are scheduled at this time during the holiday season.
Operation Nez Rouge says it expects to handle the workload despite being a little shorthanded.
It has issued an appeal for more volunteer drivers.
There will also be a strong police presence on the roads.
Local police departments and the Sûreté du Québec are into their month long roadside stop-check programme.
Last year police arrested an average of 30 people per day during the holiday period who were charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
