Talented writer and performer Donna-Michelle St. Bernard delves into the experience of being black and Canadian in Sound of the Beast. St. Bernard is a talented wordsmith, and her spoken word and rap music bring nuance and passion to a variety of issues, like injustice, protesting and dealing with cops. This opens Black Theatre Workshop's 48th season at the Mai until October 14.
The Segal Centre starts showing Once, the Tony-winning popular musical (and movie) about a Czech immigrant and Irish musician who decide to make sweet music together on the streets of Dublin. I'll be hosting the Sunday at the Segal panel discussion, which will focus on Montreal's Irish culture and history!
