Celebrating David Bowie is a travelling tribute show to the Man Who Fell To Earth. Check it out Saturday at the MTelus Theatre. Special guests have jumped on stage throughout the tour, and longtime Bowie band member and producer Mark Plati is confirmed for Montreal's show.
And while we're honouring amazing musicians we've lost, there is a free exhibit at Place des Arts for Prince. The multidisciplinary brand new art explores her life and legacy. You can also head next door to the MAC for A Crack in Everything, the exhibit inspired by Leonard Cohen, which continues to early April. They host their regular Nocturnes evening on Friday... where you can dance, eat, create art and visit the exhibit until 2am.

The city is chock-a-block with theatre... check out Black Boys, a "raw, intimate" portrayal of the lives of queer black men, on at Espace Libre. Laura Flynn, who uprooted from her native Ireland to Montreal four years ago, weaves stories about her grandma and childhood in solo show Get Your Shuffle On at MainLine Theatre. And last night I caught Antigone, a classical, moody telling of the Greek woman who defies a cruel ruler. It inhabits a wonderful space, the Westmount Park United Church, and features live original music. Or head a bit more west to see Conversion, a new by Montreal Alyson Grant, about politics at the dinner table, at Espace Knox in NDG.
And then there's Utopie(s), 12-hour performance art show by Lebanese-Quebecer Hanna Abd El Nour. 15 artists perform four tableaux on different themes, which you can catch in two-hour chunks until March, or see it all over the course of 12 hours at the Arsenal Art Gallery. The long show is this Saturday at noon, among other dates.
Hema-Quebec is holding a special blood drive on Sunday, between 10:30am and 4pm at the Centre d'éducation des adultes (2515 Delisle St) as part of Black History Month. The organization has been appealing to donors from the black community, along with other groups, and there has been a rise in donations in the past few years.
