With the news of the fall of Aleppo this week, the second annual Concert for Syria will likely be a meaningful and bittersweet gathering: the I Medici d McGill Orchestra plays Beethoven's Symphony No 5, among other pieces, at the Oscar Peterson Hall at Loyola Friday night. Proceeds goes towards organizer Centre culturel syrien, a non-profit working to help those internally and externally displaced in Syria.
For a totally quirky Friday night dance-a-thon: Bar le Ritz in Little Italy puts on the K-Pop Video Dance Soirée ... starting at 11pm, they will be spinning the great Korean pop music, or K-Pop, for four hours straight.
