Dozens of residents affected by the spring flooding rallied outside the office of Quebec Public security minister Martin Coiteux.
Flood victims called on the minister to help them since they say not much has changed since the flood in May.
"We're the same now as we were when the flood hit us, no further ahead," said Sharon Tower, a Rigaud resident.
Victims, like Marie-Anne Toussaint, said they have taken all of the necessary steps and filled out the paperwork for the government, and still haven't received any financial assistance.
Anne Leblanc from Pierrefonds is waiting for the money to start her repairs.
"We want to do the repairs in our basement so we can get back in our house before the winter, and it's already getting cold," Leblanc said.
Normand Marinacci, Mayor of Ile Bizard and Ste Genevieve, said he's supporting his fellow residents and wants to help speed up the financial assistance process.
"I'm asking the Minister to be a little bit more efficient in the way to handle those files," Marinacci said.
Residents have been waiting months for their files to be processed.
Minister Coiteux has repeatedly asked the public for patience as the government works its way through thousands of requests for assistance.
