Montreal police say they've arrested a man and two minors thought to be involved in a pair of break-ins in Dollard des Ormeaux last Jan. 29.
They say two homes were broken into in the same area that day, and that police were able to quickly link those break-ins to similar incidents which happened in 2017.
Police arrested 19-year-old Mouad Chafiq El Idrissi in connected with the late January break-ins, along with two underage boys, who police say would ring doorbells to make sure the victims aren't home, and then break in to the empty home and take whatever they can while the older man waits outside as a lookout.
They were arrested on Jan. 31, as they were apparently preparing to break into another home in the same neighborhood.
El Idrissi has already appeared in court to face charges of break-and-enter and conspiracy, while his two young accomplices are facing charges of break-and-enter, conspiracy, possessing tools needed for burglary and handling stolen property worth more than $5,000.
Police say if anyone has more information which may help them in their investigation, they're being asked to phone the confidential Info-Crime line at 514-393-1133, or file a statement online.
