Starting the weekend of April 27, the Deux-Montagnes commuter rail line won't be running on weekends, so that preliminary work can begin in the forthcoming REM light-rail network.
One of the REM network's lines will run along the current Deux-Montagnes route.
The work will mean an adjustment in the train schedules for the Friday evenings until further notice. The last train leaving Central Station heading for Deux-Montagnes will leave at 7:30 p.m., while the last Montreal-bound train will leave Deux-Montagnes at 6:33 p.m.
The work will also affect the Mascouche line as well — the last train leaving Montreal on Friday night will leave at 7:12 p.m., while the last one coming the other direction leaves the Mascouche station at 5:17 p.m.
Both the STM and the Laval transit system will be pressing more buses into service on weekends while the work goes on.
More details on future construction plans are expected by the end of April.
