Websites for Quebec public health agencies in Montreal are still shut down, a week after malicious computer files were detected.
Officials decided to take no chances and shut down on November 29 the five sites belonging to the CIUSSS public health agencies on the island of Montreal as well as the Portail Santé Montréal.
"We were the ones who decided to shut them down, to clean them. There's no ransomware," said spokesman for the Centre-Sud health authority Jean-Nicolas Aubé in an interview with CJAD 800.
Part of the Santé Montréal site has since gone back online.
The other sites are:
"There's absolutely no personal information that is contained on these pages," said Aubé.
"These are essentially landing pages for the CIUSSS, information pages."
Quebec City website-hosting company Libéo manages those sites.
Aubé said they don't know yet if they'll change that policy and reconsider having an external company host the sites.
