A broken water main forced the evacuation of one family in Montreal-North Saturday morning.
The pipe ruptured just after 3 o'clock on de Bayonne Street.
Water filled the basement apartment and the garage of an eight-unit building.
The Red Cross is looking after the family, which includes two children.
Firefighters set up water barriers to protect neighboring buildings from flooding.
The leak has been capped with repairs to be completed later in the day.
Damage is estimated at tens of thousands of dollars.
