Is there major tension among the Quebec Liberals following the Guy Oullette affair?
Energy minister Pierre Moreau surprisingly abstained from a Wednesday vote on a PQ motion praising a National Assembly speech by House Speaker Jacques Chagnon.
Chagnon criticized the anti-corruption squad UPAC the day before for arresting Ouellette and not laying any charges.
MNAs voted unanimously in favour of the motion.
But, Moreau abstained saying didn't agree with some legal technicalities in Chagnon's speech.
The opposition said Moreau is essentally contesting Premier Couillard's leadership.
According to Moreau, no way.
"I am not in leadership campaign, directly or indirectly. I've always been loyal to the chief, I am loyal to my chief, and I will still remain loyal to Mr. (Philippe), Couillard, and there's no other interpretation that should be made", said Moreau.
