An east end Montreal march was held on Saturday in support of Quebec public daycare workers.
They're negotiating a collective agreement and are upset with hundreds of millions of dollars in cuts in recent years.
Among other things, they want a salary increase.
"They're asking for not only increases in salaries for themselves, but also to have more funding and services for children with special needs. And they say that there is less time available to help them plan for educational, pedagogical programs, etc. What they want to do is put pressure on the government as they enter this next phase", said CTV's Cindy Sherwin.
The workers, who say they're not yet done with demonstrations, want salaries that match the provincial averages in the private sector as well as government contribution to their pension plan.
Their contract expired two years ago.
