Ex-PQ leader and high-profile businessman Pierre Karl Péladeau is being sued by his ex-divorce lawyer and high-profile attorney Anne-France Goldwater for payment owing for services rendered in his divorce case — nearly $92,000 plus interest.
In a lawsuit filed Monday, Goldwater said she was hired last year by Péladeau for his divorce proceedings involving media personality Julie Snyder.
The lawsuit said Péladeau relieved Goldwater of her duties in April of this year.
Goldwater said she billed Péladeau for services rendered between February 26 and March 31, 2017: $91,843.50 plus interest. Goldwater said she contacted Péladeau several times for payment but that just last week, he refused to pay.
The lawsuit said the case was complex partly because of the notoriety of the parties.
.@AFGoldwater says it's just banal case of asking for payment for services rendered(though with high-profile names like PK Péladeau). #CJAD pic.twitter.com/F7dYaz8VAg

The lawsuit also said it took a lot of work by Goldwater and her colleagues to ensure the case got the attention it deserved, including working evenings and weekends.
Goldwater claims Péladeau asked to be billed weekly so he could stay on top of the case.
The head of communications at Quebecor replied to CJAD 800 News' request for comment, saying Péladeau would make no comment on his personal affairs.
Péladeau returned as head of Quebecor after his political stint.
