The city of Montreal's pilot project banning through traffic Mount Royal will begin June 1st and last until the end of October.
Montreal mayor Valerie Plante made the announcement official this morning.
The public consultation will begin a month earlier on May 1st and will also include the future of Camilien-Houde Road.
The city's public consultation office will handle the survey. It should hand in its report 90 days after the end of the consultation.
The city says cars represent 80% of the traffic that goes across the mountain.
Plante says they'll be increasing the number of family activities and cycling events on the mountain during the pilot project.
