If you hate jumping through hoops on the phone to make an appointment with your doctor, the Quebec government is about to change things.
Health minister Gaetan Barrette has announced the creation of a pilot project, involving a central web site that will allow you to make an appointment with your own family doctor, someone in the same doctor group, or at a clinic.
You don't need to have a family doctor to use the service.
The new service, called Rendez-Vous Santé Québec, is at the pilot-project stage now, but is expected to become available everywhere in the province by the fall.
The province is spending $4.5 million on the project.
