It was a cold one, but Montrealers still turned out by the thousands for the annual Saint Patrick's Parade.
The parade, the longest-running of its kind in Canada, was held on De Maissoneuve for the first time due to construction on Ste-Catherine street, but turnout appeared to be as high as ever.
The 195th parade included 20 floats and 25 marching bands, as well as clowns, mascots, motorized bathtubs, historical reenactors, a few dozen dogs and even one cat.
With the wind chill making it feel like fifteen degrees below, some attendees took shelter indoors and watched the parade from coffee shops and metro stations along the route.
Mayor Valerie Plante told CJAD 800 that she was excited to be able to attend the parade for the first time as Mayor, and said that she looked forward to when it could return to its usual route on Ste-Catherine street.
