If you were late for work today there's a good chance you can blame it on the sea of orange cones taking over the city. Motorists in Ottawa had a different traffic causing culprit.
A moose with an apparent leg injury forced the partial closure of the eastbound side of Highway 417.
The animal was first spotted at about 6:30 A.M.
Local and provincial police used their vehicles to box the moose in and keep it away from traffic until wildlife officials arrive at the scene to tranquilize it to have it safely relocated.
The only in Canada jokes started almost before police arrived:
Only in Canada do you get a highway closed because of a moose #ottawa #moosewatch
