Mid-mornings on CJAD 800 will feature a new voice in 2019, as Elias Makos takes over from 9am-12pm.
In doing so, he joins the ranks of celebrated broadcasters like CJAD 800 Wall of Famers, Tommy Schnurmacher and Melanie King, who also graced the microphone during the popular timeslot.
Makos replaces Leslie Roberts, who departs at the end of the week to take an Editor position with a travel & wellness publication.
The newly minted Elias Makos Show, which hits the airwaves on Dec. 31, will feature breaking news, debate, interviews, and discussion with listeners.
In joining the CJAD 800 team, Makos also makes his return to CTV Montreal, where he spent 6 years as a regular contributor and tech columnist before landing at Breakfast Television, in 2013. He will provide regular analysis to CTV Montreal newscasts, starting in the New Year.
“CJAD 800 and CTV Montreal are part of the fabric of our city and have been home to some of the best broadcasters in the country,” Makos said. “I’m excited to join a great team and to connect with Montrealers about the issues that matter to them.”
CJAD 800 Program & News Director Chris Bury expects a fast-paced and fun program:
“Elias is passionate and highly-motivated,” he said. “He’s an excellent storyteller, and has tremendous instincts when it comes to finding topics that will grab the listeners’ attention.”
“I think the CJAD 800 audience is going to really enjoy what Elias and his team put together every day.”
Makos is a life-long Montrealer who has lived in both CDN/NDG and Lachine.
