Four members of a family from LaSalle made a trip downtown on Tuesday to pick up a very big cheque.
The Lamothe-LeBlanc family from LaSalle won the big $37.5 million Lotto Max jackpot last Friday, and showed up at Loto-Quebec headquarters to meet the media, and pose with the traditional giant novelty cheque.
The grandfather discovered they had the winning ticket on Saturday, and immediately told his daughter, son-in-law and grandson.
For now, they don't have any big plans for the money, says they'd rather wait a few months before deciding on any big-ticket items.
“You can go nuts, that’s for sure,” says father Patrick Lamothe. “You can go tomorrow and buy a Porsche or Lamborghini but I don’t want that. Anyway I won’t fit in a Lamborghini. No, we’re just simple people.”
They say their immediate purchases will likely be a pickup truck, a computer, and maybe a trip to Wimbledon.
