Jury selection was completed Tuesday afternoon in the Montreal trial of two former College de Maisonneuve students who are charged with terror-related offenses.
21-year-old Sabrine Djermane and 20-year-old El Mahdi Jamali were arrested in April 2015, and each face the following charges: attempting to leave Canada to join a terrorist organization, possession of explosives, facilitating the actions of a terrorist group, and committing an act to profit a terrorist group.
Out of a pool of 150 potential jurors, 14 were chosen by 2:30 p.m. — six men and eight women.
The trial is expected to be a long one — jurors were warned the trial would last around 10 weeks. The Crown is expected to call at least 31 witnesses.
