It's being called the most powerful hurricane to form in the Atlantic in 100 years.
Hurricane Irma has already lashed Antigua and Barbuda, and the islands of St. Maarten and St. Barthelemy. It's now making its presence felt in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, on its way to a possible hit on south Florida this weekend.
The map below, by the Esri Disaster Response Program, describes the current & recent location of tropical storms, as well as forecast positions and probable track of tropical storms.
