Animal control officials are looking for the owner of a dog that bit a 13 year old girl Sunday afternoon in the parking lot at Saputo Stadium.
The girl is recovering after she was attacked and bit in the top part of her hamstring.
A witness managed to kick the animal off the teen.
Police say the dog wore no collar and had no identification.
The dog has been temporarily taken in by Berger Blanc.
Animal control inspector Markus Garcia says it's believed the dog could be considered a pit bull type dog under the city's new by law, which is being contested in court.
He tells CTV the dog is being evaluated while they're waiting for its owner to come forward.
“The dog will be checked by our vet depending on his aggressiveness and on his health,” he said. “We can place him to adoption if he has no signs of aggressiveness or else if he is too dangerous and actually he might be put down to sleep.”
The owner could face fines or possible charges.
