If the impending road work blitz and traffic nightmare aren't enough to make you take public transit more often, there may be a new reason helping you leave your car at home.
Gas prices.
Many experts are predicting that a litre of regular gas in Quebec could hit $1.40 this week, many saying the pump jump could hit as early as today and won't go away for quite awhile.
The main reasoning for the increase is Hurricane Harvey and Irma.
When Harvey made landfall on August 25 it caused nearly a third of US oil refineries to halt production and shut down a major east coast pipeline.
As clean up continues in many of the affected areas, refineries will return to regular outputs, but many experts are predicting motorists here in Montreal won't be seeing any relief when filling up until Thanksgiving at the earliest.
