Police have little to go on after a cyclist came close to having his throat cut while biking across a bridge in Verdun a few weeks ago.
Late on the afternoon of Sept. 5, Claude Beaulé was riding his bike along a pedestrian and bike bridge bettween de la Verendrye Blvd. in Montreal and Champlain Blvd. in Verdun, when he says someone deliberately strung a length of fishing line across the bridge.
He says if he hasn't seen it at the very last second, his injuries could have been much worse.
As it was, even though he got his hand up to protect his throat, he fell from his bike and went face first into the pavement.
He suffered smashed teeth, a dislocated jaw and a concussion, and won't be able to return to work for a few weeks.
Police say there is no surveillance video, and no witnesses to what happened, but police are treating this incident as a criminal act.
