Another nurse has gone to social media to vent her frustrations with her working conditions.
Jessie Julia Charlebois, from Vaudreuil, posted a video to her Facebook page on Sunday, after returning home from a long overtime shift.
"It's really taking a toll on everybody," she says in the video. "I don't know what to do anymore."
She told of being at a patient's bedside toward the end of her shift, when a supervisor tried to tell her she needed to work overtime.
"This is not a conversation to be having in front of patients," she said. "I told her, straight up, I will not come in to work tomorrow if I'm being forced tonight. And she says, 'I'm not making any deals.'"
Charlebois' lament echoes similar Facebook rants from overworked nurses in recent days.
"I love my job. I love my patients, and I try to take the best care of them," she says. "But sometimes I just think that it's not fair. Why are conditions like this when I wouldn't want my mom or my dad...to be a patients when nurses are working in these conditions.
"Something needs to happen because it can't go on anymore."
