A promo video for Montreal's 375th birthday celebrations has been pulled after charges that it was too white.
The video, which was made to promote the city's cultural heritage, received a torrent of online criticism because it featured only white people.
The video is two minutes long, and was done as part of a campaign called Opération Patrimoine. The video was posted to the city's web site and Facebook page, and was taken down from both places in the face of the backlash.
Similar complaints were leveled at organizers of the birthday celebrations back in November, when another video was released which contained no non-white people.
City Hall admitted the mistake, with mayor Denis Coderre saying, "it was a mistake, and if it happens again, I'll kick some ass."
