Health Canada has issued a warning after unidentified capsules were found in a returned bottle of children's "Flintstones Plus Iron" multivitamins instead of the multicoloured chewable tablets.
Health Canada said the opened bottle with the safety seal removed was returned to a Pharmaprix in Longueuil last month.
The federal health agency said it was notified by the company, Bayer Inc. and both of them are aware of only one incident involving this product.
Health Canada said Bayer told them it has completed an investigation and has concluded that the unidentified capsules found in the bottle were not due to an issue at the Bayer manufacturing site. The investigation also concluded that the unidentified capsules are not a product manufactured or sold by Bayer.
Health Canada said the health risks of consuming the unidentified capsules are not known and is testing the unidentified capsules.
