Work to demolish what used to be the elevated portion of the westbound Ville-Marie Expressway is scheduled to begin this weekend, and as a result the Ville-Marie will be shut down in both directions between the Turcot interchange and downtown for the latter half of the weekend.
The ramp connecting highway 15 north to highway 20 west will also be closed — which will also mean the access ramps from De La Verendrye Blvd. and St. Patrick St. will also be closed.
The closures are scheduled to be in effect from 11:30 p.m. on Saturday through 5 a.m. on Monday.
Initially, the closure was to have been for the entire weekend, but Transport Quebec says the work is being pushed back because of the impending snowstorm that's expected to hit Montreal during the day on Saturday.
