The long-awaited hospital for western Quebec is going to be about twice as big as originally planned with about twice the cost.
The Premier's office released a statement Thursday announcing that the revised plans call for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital to have 404 beds, 10 operating rooms and an emergency room with space for 41 beds.
The estimated price has climbed to $1.5 billion.
The hospital will be built on 250,000 m2 of land near the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 340 in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
