Employees of Vanguard School in Saint Laurent say their privacy is invaded by the dozens of security cameras in the building.
There are 64 of the video cameras: at the school's entrance, in the corridors, the cafeteria and the stairwells.
The principal tells La Presse that the cameras were installed to deal with bullying, vandalism, and theft, and that only she can authorize access to the recordings.
The employees took their worries about privacy to a labour tribunal, and lost.
Now they're asking Superior Court to acknowledge that the surveillance can violate their rights and cause discomfort, even if classrooms, offices and bathrooms are not monitored by cameras.
