She hasn't been elected mayor yet, but Projet Montreal's Valerie Plante has already named her pick for executive committee chair.
Plante has chosen Benoit Dorais, the two-term mayor of the South West borough who joined Projet Montreal this past May.
Last year, mayor Denis Coderre named Dorais to head Montreal's agglomeration council, and then withdrew the appointment a few months later.
Yesterday, Plante pledged to put some opposition members on the executive committee, and allow more free votes in council, in a bid to create a less partisan City Hall.
Dorais was first elected under the Vision Montreal banner in 2009, and was re-elected as a member of Coalition Montreal in 2013.
