An 18-year-old man has died following a police chase in Mascouche overnight.
He was a passenger in a car whose driver tried to outrun Terrebonne police and ended up hitting a tree near the Mascouche city hall.
The incident reportedly began at around 4 o'clock on Tuesday morning, when police began chasing three vehicles, including a stolen car, on Hwy. 640 near Hwy. 25.
Police caught one driver, another driver escaped, and a third crashed into the tree at high speed, killing his 18-year-old passenger.
The driver suffered serious injuries, but authorities believe he will survive.
The Bureau of Independent Investigations is looking into the incident.
