It looks like a do-gooders good deed will go unpunished after all.
Last week Tommy Boucher was handed a $101 ticket by a pair of STM officers while offering free hugs to Montrealers inside the Jean-Talon metro station.
The inspectors said he was offering a service without a permit.
He told CJAD 800's The Aaron Rand Show he was shocked, because he's been offering the "service" for over a year, and even had a green shirt with the words "Free Hugs" on it.
The 29-year-old took to his blog to voice his frustration, and word of the ticket quickly spread throughout the city.
On Monday the STM rescinded the fine and instead gave Boucher a warning.
