About 4,000 children that usually take the school bus will need to find other ways to get to school on Monday after bus drivers voted down the latest contract offer from their employer.
A new offer was sent to members of the Teamsters union over the weekend, and about 78 per cent voted against the latest proposal.
The affected school boards are Trois-Lacs in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and the Lester B. Pearson board in Montreal, which are serviced by drivers employed by Lucien Bissonnette Inc.
Classes are not cancelled.
The strike does not touch all schools in the Lester B. Pearson board.

The general strike was postponed from April 10 to give negotiations more time.
Strikes on the South Shore were averted on Sunday.
Drivers serving the Marie-Victorin and Patriotes boards accepted new contract offers from their respective employers.
Sogesco drivers working at the Autobus South Shore division in Sainte-Julie voted 100 per cent in favor of a new employment contract.
The new three-year collective agreement includes a wage increase of 7.5 per cent.
Drivers in the Longueuil division accepted a new five-year work contract, which provides for a wage increase of 11.5 per cent, with 70 per cent voting to accept the offer.
The salaries of school bus drivers range from $ 20,000 to $ 25,000 a year, according to the Teamsters union.
