Montreal police are now saying they haven't charged anyone in connection with the death of a cyclist on the mountain two weeks ago.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, police said a 59-year-old man from California was facing a charge of criminal negligence causing death in connection with the incident on Camillien-Houde Parkway.
18-year-old Clément Ouimet was killed by an SUV whose driver pulled an illegal U-turn on the mountain roadway.
Later on in the morning, police changed their story, saying the original news released had been sent in error.
They're now saying the investigation into Ouimet's death is not over, and that the driver of the SUV has not been charged.
It says once the investigation is complete, the file will be transferred to Quebec's Crown prosecutor's office.
