Montreal Police shot and killed a 23-year-old man in Notre-Dame-de-Grace Tuesday evening after responding to a 9-1-1 call about a fiight between two men in NDG.
It all happened around 9pm on Montclair, near de Maisonneuve. When police arrived the man who was shot allegedly turned towards them and lunged at them with a knife.
Police shot him with a sidearm after a taser failed to stop the man. CJAD 800 has also learned the man was known to police. He was transported to hospital, but later died of his injuries.
Quebec's 'Bureau of Independent Investigations' took control of the case last night and assigned eight investigators ... including verifying the accuracy of details provided by Montreal Police
Investigators have already asked the Sûreté du Québec to act as a supporting police force in the investigation and will have two SQ forensic identification technicians working under their supervision.
