A 26-year-old man has died after being stabbed downtown early Monday.
According to police the man was walking with friends near Ontario and Berri streets when he was stabbed.
Those friends brought him to hospital at about 2:50 A.M. and the man died from his injuries several hours later.
Ontario Street remained closed between Berri and St-Denis for horus after the incident.
Spokesperson for the Montreal police Caroline Chevrefils said the investigation is ongoing.
"The major crime unit are still on teh scene to try to understand the circumstances. There are also surveillance cameras on buildings and they are trying to get some images."
The stabbing is the 15th murder so far this year in Montreal, compared to 22 at the same time last year.
