There was a major collision on the south shore late Thursday.
It happened on highway 10 in Brossard.
Police said a vehicle heading west left its lane, went over the median, and collided head on with two vehicles going the other way.
Police originally announced six people were injured, including two critically, and that the highway was closed for a few hours in both directions.
Authorties later said the driver of the car that left its lane, a 42-year old woman, died and that five people were injured, with two of them in critical condition, including a child.
As of 9:30 PM, the east side was still completely closed, and one lane was open on the west side.
As well, investigators were still on the scene.
