Montreal police said an investigation was launched after an east end armed assault involving a mother and a daughter.
According to authorities, who spoke with witnesses, the 33-year old daughter was arrested after the mother, 60, was attacked during an altercation in Riviere-des-Pariries.
It happened Friday evening in front an apartment on 64th avenue near Perras.
Earlier, authorities said the mother was 51-years old.
The victim remained conscious and was able to communicate with police while being transported to the hospital.
It wasn't exactly clear what kind of weapon was used, although police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant said it appears to have been a sharp object.
