When a hockey team is struggling, ownership brings in a new manager. If Quebecers thought the province was struggling, they did about the same.
An analysis of professional experiences by the Canadian Press shows that 32 of the incoming 74 CAQ MNAs come from a business or management background.
It works out to 43 per cent.
The experience comes from a variety of sectors including finance, agriculture, communications and engineering.
Francois Legault, leader of the CAQ, leads the list. Legault is a former manager and business man and even co-founded the Canadian airline Air Transat.
Some of the other high-level managers: former vice-president and treasurer of the National Bank Éric Girard, Christian Dubé was the senior vice-president of Quebec's Caisse de dépôt, and the former head of the Montreal regional health agency Danielle McCann.
Many have speculated that Girard, Dubé and McCann will be given some pretty big rolls when Legault announces his first cabinet on Thursday.
Girard is believed to be the frontrunner to become Finance Minister, Dubé is being touted for the job of Treasury Board president and McCann has been included in discussions regarding a new Health Minister.
