Two Quebec natives were selected by NFL teams in the league's draft yesterday.
After the National Football League draft on Saturday, tight end Antony Auclair signed a three-year agreement with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a free agent.
Auclair's agent, Sasha Ghavami, confirmed the news early in the evening. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Ranking 19th among all tight ends available in preparation for the NFL selection session, Laval University's former Rouge et Or player had attracted 17 teams from the league on his "Pro Day" in March.
Auclair, a native of Notre-Dame-des-Pins in the Beauce region, is also the seventh prospect for the CFL draft, which will take place on May 7th.
Earlier Saturday, offensive tackle Justin Senior, originally from Vaudreuil, was chosen in the sixth round (210th overall) by the Seattle Seahawks.
While playing for Mississippi State University, where he has played during the last three seasons as a starter, Senior has been awarded the Kent Hull Trophy in 2016, awarded to the best attacking player in the state of Mississippi.
Senior, who measures six feet five inches and weighs 331 pounds, is the number one prospect of the CFL selection session.
