A couple of late night fires in Montreal left two families without a home as well as as an evacuation of a condo building and police station in in NDG.
The first fire broke out Thursday night at a condo building on Mountain Sights that also houses Station 26 of the Montreal police department. The fire started in the basment where construction was being done.
According to the fire chief, the fire seems to have been caused by a concrete drying fan.
All 13 floors including the police station were evacuated.
60 fireman were called to the scene.
The damage is minor and everyone was able to go back into the building within two hours.
An invesitgation is underway.
And a few hours later, a fire at an apartement complex in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie left two families without a home.
According to fire chief, Éric Martel, the fire began on Thursday night in the basement of the residential building on 13th Avenue.
The damage was contained to the basement and part of the ground floor.
Forty firefighters were called to the scene. No injuries have been reported.
